The Department of Computer Science established in the year of 2001 has a ling record of academic excellence. The department is certified with ISO 9001:2000 and also accredited by NBA, AICTE,New Delhi.
The department is equipped with all requisite structure like D-Link certified Network lab with excellent Internet facility of 10 MBPS Optical Fibre connectivity and state-of-art computing facilities. We are equipped with "Microsoft Campus agreement" which provides genuine Microsoft products to our students and for laboratory use. Our laboratory has licensed original softwares(Microsoft Campus Agreement, Rational Rose, Macromedia, Network Simulation Software, Adobe Suite, Tomcat) for student and staff use. our department library has more than 15000 volumes of books and about 300 study material CD's.
The department's highly qualified and adequate staff also counsel and motivate the students to bring out their best performance. Our department has produced a large number of Anna University Rank holders.We encourage the students to join various technical societies like IEEE and CSI to develop their technical expertise.Our placement record boasts of leading MNC's like Wipro, Infosys, CTS etc.
The Department has signed many MOU with top IT industries like Wipro, Infosys..., for the benefit of the students and staff. Guest Lectures ,Inplant Training, Industrial Visits, conferences and symposiums make students well prepared to face the industry.

Computer Society of India (CSI):
CSI is one of the most famous society associated with the computer professionals. It was being introduced in the Jeppiaar engineering college in the year 2007 with the institutional membership, with 57 student members.However due to various advancement, today it had grown into an successful society with nearly 245 members. As active participants of this society we conduct monthly students meet where we discuss about the various advancements in technology. In the year 2010 during the month of march we organized the National conference on Information Science and Security in association with computer society of india which proved to be a great success.
