The Department of Management Studies was established in the year 2001 under the approval of AICTE and affiliated to the Anna University,Chennai with an annual intake of 60 students. From 2007, the intake has been incerased to 120. The department is enriched with a well qualified and experienced group of faculty members with a faculty student ratio of 1:14. The Department offers various specialization areas for the students like Finance, Marketing, Human Resource, Systems. So far,the department has produced eight batches with a consistent record of 95% clearance in the first attempt and also produces more than 18 rank holders during the Anna University Examinations. Our department has 7549 books with more than 50 management CDs. We also have subscribed to more than 20 Indian journals and 12 foreign journals for students' reference. The Department is associated with Professional Bodies like AIMA, MMA, Ad Club, CII etc. The Students are also exposed to industrial Research projects like Cluster analysis from MSME., etc. The department has signed MOUs with the organisations like Tanstia FNF, Banyan, Earth Movers, Sun Pharmaceuticals etc as a part of Industry Institutional interaction programmes. The success rate in Placement always rests more than 95% . The department's laboratory is equipped with one IBM Server and 60 systems having Intel Core 2 Duo Processor(2.80 GHZ),Lenovo Motherboard(7298AF5), 250 GB Seagate SATA hard disk, 1GB RAM, 18 Inch Lenovo LCD monitor, Lenovo Keyboards and mouse. We also have licensed softwares like MS Office2003, Visual Basic 6.0,Oracle 9i,SPSS 16.0.POM, Tally, TORA etc. We undertake a wide spectrum of incampus workshops, industrial visits, guest lectures, industry interaction with training programs, Enterpreneurship Development Programs through out the year with a healthy synergy on new technology, knowledge and tools. The department is commited to equip future managers with the knowledge and skills necessary to work in an ever competitive global Business environment. Madras Management Association: Madras Management Association (MMA) is one of the largest local Management Associations in India. It was established in 1956 with the objective to improve Management Education and Training in the country. MMA has striven for Management expertise that can synthesize Indian Ethos with international Management thought and techniques. With its over 3300 members, it forms a pool of expertise and resources for the comprehensive development of all Management disciplines in the country. The MMA Student Chapter was inaugurated in our college on September 10th 2007, by Gp. Capt. Vijay Kumar, Executive Director, and MMA in the presence of Honorable Chairman Dr. Jeppiaar, Directors Mr. Marie Wilson, and Mrs. Regeena Wilson. Various activities conducted by MMA: Annual Students Conventions: Every year, MMA Conducts Students convention through various platforms like Paper presentation, Best Manager, to develop future potentials among students. Lecture Meetings: MMA Organises Lectures in our college premises by inviting personalities from industries to exchange ideas and thoughts to students. Workshops: MMA organizes Workshops to sharpen the skills of the students… Video Discussion: Every Wednesday MMA organizes video discussions on current topics for our management students. |
